Getting started

There are multiple ways in which to get started in building your Notion templates but the most effective approach I have found is to dive in head first and get hands on with using Notion.

Ever taken a stroll through the Notion Gallery?

It's like stepping into a theme park of templates. From sleek, business-like designs to those with a more laid-back feel, there's something for everyone.

Ready to build your own? Let's break it down

  1. Pick Your Purpose: Before you dive in, decide what your template is for. A workout tracker? A project planner? A personal diary?
  2. Scope Out the Gallery: Spend some time in the Notion Gallery. See what designs catch your eye and note what works (and what doesn't).
  3. Sketch It Out: Old school, I know, but grab a pen and paper. Draft a rough layout of your template.
  4. Customise: Think colours, fonts, and icons. Make it uniquely you (or suited to your audience).
  5. Functionality First: Make sure it's user-friendly. Add features like toggles, checkboxes, or drop-down lists where needed.
  6. Test Drive: Before sharing it with the world, use your template for a bit. Iron out any kinks and make improvements.
  7. Share & Gather Feedback: Let others play around with it. Their insights can help you make it even better!
